  • Design and calculation of mechanical tools such as matrixes or design of the technological process for the production of all kind of mechanical parts (plastic or metal) for printers, computers, etc.

1996 - 2003: Cofinimmo – Real Estate (Brussels)

  • The first two years worked as a Project Manager in a team of 5 persons lead by a real estate manager for organising, estimating, market consultation, ordering, follow-up and commissioning of all kind of refurbishment or fitting works in buildings (personal responsibility: +/- 150 million BEF  per year spread on 4 or 5 major projects and +/- 50 other little works and as personal responsibility) (e.g.. the refurbishment of the Charlemagne building for the  EC, fitting works on 3000 m² for Computer Associates and a lot of other less important surfaces in Brussels and Antwerp, air  conditioning installation in a 6000 m² building on the Brand Whitlock bd, in Wilrijk, refurbishment of the Chrysler building on the bd de la Woluwe, etc.)
  • Since begin 1998 working as Area Manager on two of most important areas of Cofinimmo’s real estate portfolio
    - 400.000 m² on a total of 800.000 m², 44 buildings on a total of 132 at that moment
    - areas: the Leopold Quarter and the Green Belt of Brussels (within the 19 communes)
    - reference buildings: several buildings let to the European Commission or to the European Parliament or to other  European Institutions such as CdR/CES, lobbying organisations and firms, multinationals as Boeing, Rockwell Automation, Monsanto Europe, Wall Street Journal, Computer Associates or big insurance companies as Axa Belgium (ex-Royale Belge) or Chubb Insurance Company,…
    - job description: total P&L and organisation responsibility (commercial – letting activities, selling  & buying buildings, technical and property  management, services and building  management, refurbishment works, etc.)
    - at the head of a team of 8 persons, in charge of a +/-31 billion BEF real estate portfolio (total yearly income revenue of +/- 2.4 billion BEF)

  • During a 6 month period I’ve been in charge for and I succeeded in starting (in a critical situation) the new activity of Property Management within the firm with a new 8 persons team (2 months in the beginning in a permanent crisis situation)
  • Also participated to the development of the Intranet - Extranet of the firm
  • Since 2000 until August 2003: negotiation of the new lease with the Committee of Regions/European Economical-Social Committee and organising, leading and surveying the construction Process of the new building of the 2 Committees  on the rue Belliard 93-117 (35.000m² of which 22.000m² offices and 13.000m² conference areas).


2003 - 2004: Atenor Group – Real Estate Development (Brussels and Luxembourg)

Commercial Manager

  • In charge of re-creating a 100.000-150.000m² project development portfolio, of structuring and diversifying the operation structuring and varying the risk profile, chasing the project opportunities on the market and organising the quest for projects
  • Co-operating with the main and with the most dynamical real estate agencies in order to be aware and follow all the project potential on the market
  • Making financial calculations and budgets, establishing the work programs, in the beginning all alone and then later in a consolidation phase of a project with the collaboration of internal personnel of Atenor
  • Setting-up and managing architect and engineers teams in an early phase of a project (or a project idea) in order to establish the technical feasibility  and then proceed with the financial calculations and with the negotiations in order to acquire the ground or the existing building to be refurbished
  • Identifying the potential buyers on the market and being aware of their strategy –the same for the potential occupiers
  • Possibly structuring operations with final investors from an early stage of a project
  • Keeping informed about the market demand and about the offer (developers and investors, rents and yields, projects and transactions)
  • Developing an own view on the future (and current) evolution of the real estate market and sub-markets’ evolution (short, mid and long term) and communicating this to the other members of the company management
  • Applying the knowledge acquired during 8 years with Cofinimmo about the occupant needs and conceiving the building in function of these needs (strong of the 6 years experience with consulting engineering company Marcq&Roba, and the works organisation experience with Cofinimmo)
  • Inventorying the buildings in the market in order to identify future potential developments
  • Construct and consolidate a commercial branding of the real estate activities of the company towards   the real estate market and its major players


2004 - 2007: Robelco – Real Estate Development

Project Director

  • In charge of management of real estate development operations at all development phases of the projects.
  • In charge of several projects for almost 200.000m² in Brussels (17.000m² new building for RTL-TVi; 19.000m² Pavilion building for the European Commission; new 33.000m² office project Evere Square on the ex-Philips site) and Flanders in the airport area (Hermes Plaza – 60.000m² - with three new buildings for Hewlett-Packard – 16.000m², Honeywell – 7.800m² and Guidant Europe – 7.800m²; Airport Plaza for a total of 37.500m²; etc.).
  • I co-ordinated all activities related to the Project development, including commercial, technical, urbanism, financial and legal aspects of the projects.
  • In the same time, I organized and co-ordinated the operational activities of the firm, together with its two shareholders.


2007 - present: Fortis Real Estate Development – Real Estate     Development

Development Manager

  • In charge of management of real estate development operations at all development phases of the projects.
  • Managing a 30.000m² office project in Budapest (Hungary)
  • Managing a 3 persons team with:
    - a 25.000m² office project in Luxembourg for PWC,
    - a 75.000m² office project, North Light – Pole Star, in Brussels,
    - a 30.000m² new office project in Brussels
    - a 15.000m² redevelopment of an office building in Brussels
    - several new projects under prospection in Belgium and abroad

  • Doing a work I like to do, taking as much responsibility I can carry on, managing a team (where I can use all my real estate, managerial and technical expertise), working with interesting people, succeeding in all kind of difficult issues, continue my educational process, etc.
  • Work within an existing structure, having already an established way of working, or creating new structures, but anyway being able to bring my own experience and add it to this (new or existing) organization, being in the same time able to learn from the organization’s or people’s existing know-how and experience.
  • Also helping such an organization to develop and improve its activities and results, being able to also improve myself. Managing structures, people and projects in different evolution stages, and from A to Z, working things out until the projects are 100% completed.
