Solvency II,
Introduction by Karel Van Hulle, on 5 December 2011
Karel Van Hulle, head of the Insurance and pensions unit, European Commission and project manager of the new EU legislation explains the importance of Solvency II for the insurance sector in the European Union.
The European insurance sector is an important financial sector with over 5000 companies which will all have to apply the new solvency legislation, focused on the modernization of risk management and capital requirements.
With Lieve Lowet, partner ICODA European Affairs as main author, this compilation guarantees the user the most up to date coordinated version of the directive and its secondary legislation.
The compilation will not only be relevant for insurance board members and managers but also for risk managers, actuaries, compliance officers and consultants, regulators and supervisors, academics, researchers, and other financial service sector practitioners who might want to find inspiration in this new framework.
Regular update.
